Make a donation

Your donations help the Charles Dickens’ Birthplace Museum to continue providing its research, education and conservation service. By donating to the museum, you will help tell the story of Portsmouth and its residents for generations to come.

You can make a donation to the Charles’ Dickens Birthplace Museum through the Portsmouth City Council payment gateway. This allows us to keep 100% of your donation, whilst also ensuring all payment details are kept secure.

Make a donation using the online form. From that page, scroll to the bottom and click ‘Miscellaneous’. In the drop-down menu that appears, select ‘Donations’. Another menu will appear, asking which museum you wish to donate to. Select ‘Donation Charles Dickens Birthplace’, then you’ll be able to enter your details and specify a donation amount. On this page, where it says ‘Account name’, simply type: Donation.

There is a collection box at the museum where you can donate in person.
