The museum is now in its winter period and will re-open for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 5 April - 29 September 2019. It also opens on 7 February each year to celebrate Dickens' birthday.

The museum will open for a special event on Wednesday 19th December 2018 to commemorate 175 years since the publication of A Christmas Carol.

2018 Admission prices
Adult: £4.20
Senior Citizen: £3.70
Unaccompanied Child (U18): £3.20
Students: £3.20
Child (U18): Free when accompanied by a paying adult

Portsmouth residents free of charge (proof of residence required).
If you live in postcode areas PO1 to PO6, please bring proof of address such as a driving licence, utilities bill etc.
If you live in PO7 and are a Portsmouth resident, please bring a copy of your current Council Tax Bill.

We do not have an online ticketing system at present but we do accept all major payment cards, cash or cheques at the museum. Advance booking is not required, just buy your tickets on the day. For a complete listing of admission charges for all our museums and group prices click here

The museum has a well-stocked shop selling a wide and varied range of souvenirs, gifts, china and books, including all major works by Charles Dickens and biographies of this famous author.
